Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

I d understand this could be very disturbing. How ever, it might be of interest to know a few things. is this the first time you are experiencing this or its from childhood? Are there moments you experience this more apart from exposure to sunlight? have you ever been putting on glasses for some eye issues before? Have you noticed that your eyes are reddish (inflamed)? Have you been to any serious school work or stressful time on the computer lately or are you preparing for any exams?

Common allergies could present as such. Anti allergic drugs taken orally and through eye drops could serve the purpose. Any family history of allergies could orient towards this direction. An eye exam can be very useful.

In case you have past history of eye disease, it might simply be a infection,. Generally viral, which should pass by with no issues. Eye drops like Indomethacine, sold over the counter are sufficient. In case there is pus accompanied, antibiotics can be used. The distinction is easy to make with a simple careful medical examination.

In case you have been so exposed to a computer are so stress with work or an exam, it is but normal under these circumstances, you could get a temporal inflammation of your eye film (retina) or be temporally short sighted (myopic). You also become more sensitive yo light.

This usually fades away when the stress is off . The eyes are strongly linked with other sensory organs like the ears and the head. The eye pain is referred through the optic nerve that passes through the ear and the visual centre is behind the head. It is usual thus for eye ache to be associated with headache.

I strongly suggest you see your family physician for a clinical review. I do not think however its so serious for you to panic. No worries as I wish you the best of health.

Kind regards,

Dr Bain
