What Causes Lack Of Appetite And Rashes On Face And Mouth After Eating?

My baby girl is 9 months old and for past 2-3 days she has stopped eating solids completely all of sudden.
She is just taking mothers milk. she will refuse to eat anything and moves away her mouth when we offer anything to eat.
She also keeps on itching her ears.
Yesterday i made her to eat muffin n yogurt forcefully, she ate it but after 10 minutes her face turned red( mouth, chin and cheeks like rashes), but it went away after an hour.
Has it to do anything with teething, not sure even if she is teething.M worried, please help.
How can i make her to eat? she is getting weak.
PS: She is urinating normally and having mothers milk.
Could be allergic rashes, check her ears
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
From your description and history it looks like the rashes after giving muffin and yoghurt could be allergic rashes. It is better to avoid muffin and stick to home made foods.
You need to get her ears checked for wax or infection. That could be causing itching in the ears.
Teething pain is very common at this age and babies do behave crankily. They may refuse to eat.
You can try teethers to help soothen the pain.
Give more liquids if eating semi solids is difficult.
The pain usually disappears in a few days after which intake will improve spontaneously.
Another possibility is iron deficiency anemia which is common at 9 months. If your pediatrician confirms that on examination he may prescribe iron supplements which will improve the appetite.
Wishing your child good health.
