Brief Answer:
Can wait for up to ten days after completing treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing back.
You can wait for withdrawal bleeding to occur usually 3-7 days after completion of the treatment, sometimes even after ten days, since you have PCOD.
If your doctor has asked you to take Metformin regularly, it is advisable to do so, since ovulation has been induced with this regime in PCOD with good success rates.
Please maintain a healthy weight, regular exercise and a healthy diet as this is shown to correct the hormone imbalance and lead to spontaneous ovulation in 5-15% of cases.
Clomiphene is usually used for a maximum of six cycles and followed up regularly for evidence of ovulation and if necessary, modifications are made in dosages. If you have decided to stop the medication due to unwanted side effects, your doctor will decide the next steps to be followed.
Hope this helps.
