Posted on Mon, 13 Jul 2015
Question: I was supposed get my period this week and on Thursday I was spotting very lightly So I thought it was my period coming. But the next day Friday there was no sign of my period as well as nothing on Saturday so I took a pregnancy test but it was Negative. Today Sunday out of no where I have cramping and spotting and when I peed there were tiny blood clots in the urine. What does this mean? Can I be pregnant? Or is this something serious?

Brief Answer:
Can be due to pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The chances of being pregnant is there. Early pregnancy test may get negative. You can do a blood test for B-hcg to exclude/confirm pregnancy.

If the blood test comes out negative, you may have to go for investigations like USG lower abdomen, Thyroid Profile, LH/FSH, Blood sugar etc to rule out underlying pathology, if any. It may be due to hormonal imbalance, Irregular eating habit, stress/anxiety,Ovarian cyst etc.

Consult with your Gynecologist/Physician and take suggestive measures according to reports.

Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Thank you for replying So do you think that what I'm having can be an implation bleeding?? And if So is it normal for it to bleed little bit one day and then nothing for 2 days and then bleeding again little bit after 2 days of nothing?? And I actually went for a blood pregnancy test and on Friday but then I read on line that if you think you experienced implation bleeding you should go for blood test a week later is that correct? And also I read that if you're over weight the hormone level is not as high enough to detect on a home pregnancy test is that true? And if I'm having the implantation bleeding then why Did I see small blood clots in my urine? Is that normal? Thank you sorry for asking So many questions but I'm So confused to what's going on and if I'm pregnant or not it's just So hard not to know and have all these things happening

Brief Answer:
Wait for blood test report.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The implantation bleeding can be irregular and can stop intermittently. You can test your blood for pregnancy as soon as you have implantation bleeding/. The test will give the exact levels and will help in ruling out early miscarriage by repeating the test after 48 hours.
This can be due to a delayed period or an early miscarriage. This can be confirmed by an ultrasound scan after the blood test. Urine test can be false negative sometimes.
Blood test is more confirmatory.
Just wait for the report and consult a gynecologist accordingly.
Hope my answer is helpful.
