No need to worry for this pain.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Since you had tubercular pleural effusion, chest pain is expected fir first 2-3 months.
So no need to worry for this pain.
Continue anti tubercular drugs for atleast 6-8 months months.
Get done repeat chest after 1 month to see and compare status of fluid in the pleural cavity.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

It is due to healing.

I can understand your concern.
There are two very slim layers of pleura surrounding lungs.
Normally they are not visible and very minimal fluid is there between these layers.
When excessive, pathological fluid accumulate between these layers, it is known as pleural effusion.
Most common cause is infection.
So when with anti tb drugs, effusion start decreasing and pleural layers show healing.
And healing take place by fibrosis. And this fibrosis cause mild pain when we deep inhale or cough or sneeze.
So pleural fibrosis is the cause for your pain.

Brief Answer:
Yes, smoking can cause tuberculosis.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, smoking can cause tuberculosis. Actually smoking causes decrease in lung defense. And hence patient is more prone to infection.
So better to quit smoking as soon as possible.
Better not to take alcohol during tube treatment. Because anti tb drugs may cause liver damage and this can worsen by Anti tb drugs. So better not too consume alcohol while on Anti tubercular drugs.
And yes, you can eat non vegetarian food. No harm in it. Actually non vegetarian food is indicated because it carries high protein. And high protein diet is indicated in tuberculosis.
So you can definitely take non vegetarian food.
