What Causes Left Sided Facial Paralysis And Facial Swelling?

diagnosed as Bell's Palsy in the E.R.
I hope that this is correct.
I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT ONE OF HIS ROOMATES IS A CONVICTED MURDER WITH KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO KILL AND POISON, HOW TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE NATURAL CAUSES. My cousin has been working out with the murderer daily, possibly give ' health drinks' , which detectives familiar with the convict told me today he is known to use to hide poisons in.
( I have already contacted the police)
Maybe it is a coincidence that this previously healthy 32 y.o. has these symptoms. I am desperately trying to get him on the phone to send him back to the ER for toxicology testing.
IMPORTANT QUESTION; other than a heavy metal testing, WHAT POISONS MIMIC STROKE?, WHAT ELSE SHOULD THEY TEST HIM FOR?
Most likely Bell's palsy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted the clinical details of your cousin. The most likely cause of his symptoms is Bell's palsy, presumed to be due to a viral infection. However, in view of difficulty in swallowing, a brain stroke should be excluded. MRI brain would be required for that.
I have also noted other details and your suspicion of poisoning.
Heavy metal screening should include lead, arsenic and mercury, which are known to affect the nervous system.
There is no need to do any other tests at present.
I hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,
