Brief Answer:
Possibly diabetic neuropathy or vit B12 deficiency
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. It appears to be related to neuropathy.
2. If you are diabetic, its more commonly seen. If not. It could be secondary to vit B12 deficiency.
3. You will need to control blood sugar within normal range. Further damage can occur with abnormal control.
4. Along with it, vit B12 therapy and alpha lipoic acid supplements is necessary.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.

Thanks for your message. Have had blood tests which only indicated a slight over active thyroid – otherwise nothing. Will be seeing my dentist this week to
investigate whether a recent crown treatment can have any connection. Still have tingling lips and face. As I am diabetic it could be diabetic neuropathy – I
wonder if MS is a likely suspect??

Brief Answer:
Not multiple sclerosis.

Hi,
Thanks for asking again.
I do not think of Multiple sclerosis to start now. Age is not in favor of it. Also multiple relapses need to occur. It is not multiple sclerosis.
With history of diabetes, it should be diabetic neuropathy. You continue taking Vit B12 supplements (whole B-complex will be beneficial) with alpha lipoic acid. It will be very helpful. Will require at-least 2-3 months for improvement.
Recent crown, I would not expect. Anyway, dentist opinion matters.
Hope you have started with supplements.
Hope it helps.
