default
Posted on Wed, 8 Jun 2016
Question: I am type2 diabetic my A1C is 6.8 and my cholesterol is128. I am very active I run and workout. I am 61 5_7 166. I take Metformin,Gipizide, Cozar and Prevestatin. I have just noticed that I am experiencing a very slight lightheadedness for a moment. It lasts less than a heartbeat. I am not dizzy, nauseous or have any ear infection problems. I am not to concerned but I wonder if this is age related or diabetic related. Or should I go and see my doctor. I must be clear the feeling is very slight comes and goes not specific to any activity. For example I just did 100 push ups and felt nothing. Any suggestions

Brief Answer:
Unlikley related to age or diabetes, clinically insignificant.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

I have read your query and understand the concern.

Slight lightheadedness just for a moment,is clinically insignificant. Also you don't have nausea or dizziness or any ear issues as stated by you.

Your HBA1C 6.8 and blood cholesterol 128 are completely normal and also it has nothing to do with age. So,it is very unlikely related to your age or your current disease.

Mostly it is transient and get resolved by itself and it is does NOT require medical attention at present. There is No need to see doctor.

Since the lightheadedness mild or it is not troublesome, you may wait for few days.

Until then I would suggest you to take plenty of fluids and electrolytes.Otherwise there is nothing significant.

You should continue to take your current medications.

It is very good that your have active life, doing workouts and push ups even at this age 61.

Hope this helps.
