What Causes Lipoma Like Bulges On Arms And Ribs?

Question: Hi,
I have small bulges at around 4 places on my body. two of them situated on my left arm, one at my right rib and another on my left. They seem like small blood clots that have dried up and are a bulge. To describe it more vividly, it looks a little bigger than a normal mosquito bite, but has no redness whatsoever. There is no passive pain and I only feel pain when I physically touch it. Please provide me your opinion on the same.

Brief Answer:
lipoma
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for the description of the bulges. Is the skin over the bulge pinchable between thumb and index finger? Do you feel a lump under the skin? Is it moving?
If they are lumpy and movable under skin it is a lipoma. You should get this examined by a local doctor who can confirm this. If it is lipoma this is completely benign and no worry about it. It is a fat accumulation and there is no said reasons why this happens. No harm as well just disfiguring.
Hope this answers your query.

Thank you for your prompt reply!
This does help. You were spot on the description of the lipoma. They are lumpy and slightly movable but also seem to revert back to the original position.
I have a few follow up questions though.
It does say that lipomas aren't supposed to hurt, but mine does hurt when touched or tried to move it. Of course as mentioned, no passive pain occurs. The one on my right is between two ribs and does pain a little more than the others. Any other reason than this pain that i have to get it removed?

Brief Answer:
Pain is subjective
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Tenderness is be there when touched. That does not mean to be inflammed. I suggest you to wait it out. You can meet a General Surgeon for an examination and decision on to remove them.
