What Causes Low Grade Fever And Severe Headache?

Question: I have had a low grade fever (99.8) and a bad headache all day... I have not taken any type of pain reliever hoping my body will fight whatever it is suffering. As soon as my headache subsides slightly I check my temperature and its normal. As soon as I feel my headache getting worse, I check my temp and sure enough, I have a low grade fever. Seems like it rises every hour or hour and a half... What am I suffering from?

5) history of nausea or vomiting
6) Photophobia and phonophobia
7) aggravating factors like missing meal, decreased sleep, sunlight
8) relieving factors like sleep and rest, drugs
9) Duration of fever
10) any other illness or medications
11) age and gender
You can take pain killers for short duration pain at present to get relief.

In response to your questions.... I woke up with a bilateral headache (1day) with pain behind the eyes. Intensity feels like a 6-7 and I have it at sudden onset. I do feel slightly nauseous when the intensity increases. Because of my headache, noise does bother me. (I have suffered from migraines in the past and it did not feel the same. With a migraine I do have a sensitivity to light and noise. Usually I throw up and find a bit of relief. I have even had a nose bleed and found relief.) This headache feels different. No aggravating factors that I can recall. Did not step outside all day. Didn't try any medication. Just rested in bed which helped because if I move too fast my head hurts more. I am a female of 52 years of age. A little bit of recent history, for the past week, I have been having some light-headedness that lasts a few seconds only. I do have hypothyroidism and take Synthroid 112mcg and occasionally suffer from palpitations.

possibility of migraine attack

I have gone through your question.
With past background of migraine a possibility of migraine attack should be kept first. Sometimes the duration and intensity changes and called as status migrainosus.
In view of fever and one day headache with changed character of headache a possibility of infective etiology has to be kept also
I would advise you to take pain killers for a day or two and if not releived then consult a neurologist who can examine you regarding neck rigidity and fundus and advice accordingly.
