Hello,

You are suffering from migraine over 10 years. Your migraine is also associated with nausea, stiffness in the neck, scalp tenderness, photophobia, decreased concentrating ability and feeling of faintness. You are suggested to take Naproxen, one stat when needed to reduce discomfort from headache. Taking sumatriptan also effectively reduces migraine. You should stay away from triggers' like dehydration, strong smell, very strong light, overuse of any medication, etc.

Avoid taking food that may increase your migraine like chocolates, cheese, dairy products, caffeine, artificial sweeteners (e.g. aspartame), etc. Avoid extremes of temperature. High humidity and heat can easily lead to dehydration and trigger migraine. Hormonal changes can also trigger your symptoms, get clinically assessed by an OBGYN and get treated at the earliest. Avoid stress, take 7-8 hours quality sleep at night. Get your cervical spine clinically examined and get imaging tests done to detect / rule out any pathology that may be causing you symptoms. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
