What Causes Low Hanging Testicles After A Hernia Operation?
Question: My husband had 2 hernia operations and a hydro seal. His testicules are hanging low and are uncomfortable. Is there anything he can do to alleviate his uncomfortable situation?
Brief Answer:
When was this surgery done?
Detailed Answer:
HI,
This is a common discomfort after surgery to the groin and testes. However, this generally regresses and resolves as the swelling and inflammation reduce after surgery. If the surgery is recent, then pain medications such as a combination of tylenol and Ibuprofen in addition to the above measures would be helpful. If the surgery has been more than three weeks, I will suggest that he gets re-evaluated by the surgeon to role out any complication such as recurrent hydrocele. How would you describe the size of his testes? About the same/increased/reduced?
I hope this helps. I wish your husband well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Hernia surgery was 7 months ago. Hydrocel was 2007. Thank you
Brief Answer:
Please, let the surgeon review him.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This is a long time since this surgeries were done. Certainly, there is a complication that set in. I will suggest that you take him back to the surgeon for a thorough review and maybe imaging studies to understand the origin of this pain and address accordingly. In addition, he needs a good pain medication plan to help him stay pain free while the exact complication is identified and managed. There are many other more potent pain medications that can be used. Kindly ask his doctors to provide scripts for this.
