What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain Post Hysterectomy?
Question: I had a Davinci total hysterectomy om March 6. It has been amazingly easy since surgery. Minimal pain and able to start exercising again 2 weeks post op. Also, I have had no heavy bleeding at all, and only spotted for two days post op. Here's my question(s): I'm just over 4 weeks post op and a couple of days ago started having lower abdominal pain. Feels like cramps but not menstrual 'style' cramps. When I exercised it was there as well as when trying to pas gas and have a bowel movement (sorry to be so detailed). I can also feel pain when just sitting around. Nothing terrible-not taking any pain meds-but concerning because I'm so far out post op. Today (currently 4 and a half weeks post op) I am still having abdominal pain and have begun to spot, though very slight.
Brief Answer:
Get a sonography of pelvis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
If the pain is minimal it is nothing to worry and will resolve slowly over 2-3 months.
But if it is persistent and intolerable then i will advice you to get a sonography of your pelvis as it will tell if there is any collection (of fluid or blood ) or any other reason which is causing the pain.
Normally postoperative inflammation takes time to completely resolve and so causes discomfort .
But if you are worried follow up with the sonography to me.
