default
Posted on Mon, 24 Aug 2015
Question: 12 yrs ago I was a Manager at MACY'S IN THE COSMETIC DEPT. I LOVED my job. Then I started having sharp to dull pains in my lower back and my legs which I chalked up to the job. One morning I woke up) because I have Insomnia or a sleeping disorder too, lol, I hate complaining regarding my health. Long story short I was in bedd for 3 weeks until my husband insisted I saw a Nuerologist. What a MISTAKE. The Dr. basically called me out as MALINGERING! I had no idea at the time what that was. My very own Father-in -law was a retired surgeon and he never believed me either!!! I went to two other Dr.s who were so rude to me I CRIED.

Thank you for writing on health care magic

I am sorry that you had bad experiences with the doctors and malingering is not something you tell patients cause only you are suffering from the pain and it affects your life, so we need to sort it out for you.

Well, the pain in the back and the lower legs, i would like to ask you a few more questions before I can conclude where it is heading:

1. What has been the duration of the pain?? Like is it still on going and when did it start?

2. DO you experience pain in the nights and during early morning hours??

3. DOes your pain get worse with activity or is it better?

4. Is your sleep pattern any better now??

5. Any other joint pains which you experience??

6. Have you been irritable and forgetful recently??

7. Did they perform a MRI or x ray of your back at least before labelling anything out?

8. What is the dose of prozac you are taking??

Do let me know these queries. Would give me an idea of the pain. I really dont think you are malingering. It is affecting your daily routine and we need to sort it out for you
