Is is having any other features like fever/cough/head ache/throat pain/increased frequency or burning sensation on urination etc?
Lower abdominal pain, cold sweats (may suggests an upcoming fever),and bad taste in mouth usually suggest an infection somewhere in our body-the most likely one being an urinary tract infection. The bloating and gas may just come as a part of the systemic insult of the infection from gastric upset.
After having the correct diagnosis,this can be treated with antibiotics and other supportive measures for a few days.
Other diagnosis to be ruled out is peptic ulcer disease. However it usually doesn't present abruptly and there will be multiple similar episodes in the past.
In my opinion, you should consult your local physician who will identify this infection through physical examination and tests before treating it appropriately. Meanwhile,let him take some rest,have a light diet with enough fruits and veges,and plenty of oral fluids.
