Brief Answer:
Get investigations done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have read your query.
You have mentioned any history of fever, weightloss etc so I am assuming it to be normal.
It may be collection of fluid or bursitis.
So I advise you to get xray of knee standing in AP view,MRI scan of knee done and send me the report.
I want to see the present condition of bones, joint space, and soft tissues in your knee.
Till then avoid running, squatting , upstairs as much as you can.
Apply hot packs or 30 mins in morning and evening.
Take diclofenac+thiocolchicoside by prescription from your doctor.
I hope it helps.
Thanks.
Dr.Singh.

There is no lump in evidence when I am standing or just sitting ....the lump appears when I put weight on my leg and bend ......there is no tenderness or pain when walking or running .......just occasionally when I fo up stairs. I first noticed this today when working out....it could have been there a while but I did not notice.....could running be aggravating it even though it doen not hurt when I run?
Brief Answer:
Still I need your xray knee joint.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for you response my friend.
Your lump which appears on bending knee is synovial cyst, still I need your xray of knee joint to see whether any pathology in knee joint.
Myfriend although your lump is painless at present but remember one thing it may because painful one day, so do not ignore it.
Definitely running aggravate it, that is the reason I have previously advise you to avoid running. Sometimes swelling subsides by itself after 3 weeks of rest or by avoid heavy activities like running.
I hope it helps.
Thanks.
