Brief Answer:
A comprehensive differential diagnosis is necessary.

Detailed Answer:

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your complain, I would like to explain that it is important to perform without delay a differential diagnosis of your chest discomfort (pain), as it may be an expression of cardiac ischemic episodes, or other extra cardiac disorders as well.

To rule in/out a cardiac issue, it is necessary a medical checkup by your attending doctor (internist or cardiologist) or the ER doctor;

-     a comprehensive chest pain evaluation (its characteristic features),
-     a careful physical exam,
-     a resting ECG,
-     chest X ray study,
-     some lab tests (including cardiac enzymes, inflammatory markers, etc),

may be helpful in this regard.

If sufficient suspicions are raised, a cardiac ultrasound and an exercise cardiac stress test are indicated (facing also your potential coronary risk factors).

So, to conclude, you should talk with your doctor about actual complains and possibly the above mentioned advice.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask me whenever you need! Greetings! Dr. Iliri
