What Causes Mild Spotting And Heavy Bleeding After Taking An I-pill?

Primolut N or some Progesterone preparation is the medicine of choice
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
I have gone through your history. I do empathize your concern about the heavy bleeding. It is indeed a strange response you have got. Next morning pills are known to alter the regularity of the cycle for the immediate next cycle, however, such a heavy bleeding is very rare complication.
Ipill is a well reputed effective post-coital or next morning contraceptive pill. This pill is supposed to be taken ideally within 24 hours, but not later than 72 hours from the unprotected intercourse. You have mentioned that you took the pill on 15th September, however, you forgot to state the date on which you had unprotected intercourse. Will you please inform me that information?
I would not advise you to go for Krimson 35. It is an Oestrogen preparation (ethinyl estradiol). To control the uterine bleeding, high doses of Oestrogen are required and moreover, the withdrawal bleeding after the Oestrogen is again rather heavy. Hence, I would prefer you to take Progesterone preparation like Primolut N till the bleeding is controlled, then continue for 3 days more and then discontinue them. Then again you might get bleeding after 4-7 days however, this bleeding will be much less and will stop within 3-4 days.
Meanwhile, it is a good idea to get your blood examined for routine haemogramme and bleeding & clotting time. If you upload those reports for me, I can advise you further on that issue.
Pause MF tablet you had taken to control the bleeding contains Tranexamic Acid and Mefenemic Acid. Tranexemic acid controls any sort of bleeding however, its efficacy in controlling the hormonal bleeding is debatable. Mefenemic acid is antispasmodic and is used to relieve spasmodic pain.
The suspicion of incomplete abortion in your mind though less likely cannot be completely ruled out. Ipill has negligible failure rate. So it is better to get urine pregnancy test done again after a couple of days; if indicated, you may get ultrasonography done to look for it and any other abnormality of pregnancy. Still I feel, the chances for these conditions are very remote. However, better to err on safer side.
I would prefer you upload the blood reports and ultrasonography images and reports for my review. Currently, start Primolut N 5 mg three times a day with your Gynaecologists help as it is not an over the counter medicine. 3-4 days after the bleeding stops, discontinue the tablets to expect another event of bleeding, but with small amount.
I hope this will solve your problem. With the required information, we can discuss the issue further if this remedy does not help you. For any other information or advice, I am always available for you, XXXXXXX
If you find this information useful, you may post a good review with 5 starts rating for me.:)
