Posted on Mon, 19 Jun 2017
Question: Hi doctor,

My dad is suffering from symptoms like calf muscle pains and numb feelings in legs and hands, thigh pains and inflammation in the neck area, pain near chest, gastric trouble and feeling weak. He is suffering from past 10 days and used Pebrin 75mg and gave relief for 2 days only, but the symptoms are continuing. He used Renerve plus but it caused burning sensation in stomach so he stopped.

He has a same trouble 5 years ago and consulted multiple specialists and went through all the prescribed tests but was not diagnosed with any problem.

But now, he is feeling the pain and inflammation even if he walked for 5 minutes, he feels pain in the upper back area while in the sleep. Please suggest the right treatment and what could be the possible problem?

Please consult a Cardiologist Gasteroenterologist

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir

The Previous Episode and the current episode may be unrelated
As you have pain near chest and gastric trouble, I would request you to kindly consult a Cardiologist and Gasteroenterologist now before visiting the neurologist for the review

The weakness and pain can also be due to cardiac causes

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Hi doctor

We have consulted cardiologist and neurologist. There are no issues with the heart as per echo and ECG. Chief Neurologist has confirmed that problem as anxiety over the element of obsession and paresthesia all over the body more so in the lower body and currently recommended Oleanz 2.5 mg for 10 days and revist.

My question is, would anxiety cause so much trouble?

Brief Answer:
You may need to Consult a Gastroenterologist also

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

In my opinion, anxiety may not cause this much trouble.
So we need to rule out other causes.
You may have to consult a Gastroenterologist and do the required evaluations.

Regards
