Blocked Mind With More Noise, Fear, Constant Thinking. On Oleanz Tablet From Long Time For Constipation. Side Effects?
Hello Doctor,
my mother is more than 55 years and she is eating OleanZ tablet from last 10 years.
she is having constipation problem.
and nowadays those tablets are not working it seems. when she is having near more noise/traffic, her mind gets blocked kind it seems and feels fear.
most of the the she is silent and keeps thinking something...
are those side effects of OleanZ. please suggest what can be done to overcome those mental problems.

Blocked mind with noise, fear and constant thinking might be indicating depression or anxiety induced depression. You did not mention whether your mother is taking any psychiatric medication or any other medicines for other essential medical conditions.
I feel she should consult a psychiatrist for detailed diagnoses and for medication. along with it she can be given some sessions from psychologist. She is just 55.

why was you mother prescribed oleanz? It is an antipsychotic /MOOD STABILIZER . it never will loose effectiveness AS SUCH Present situation could be onset of a depressive phase of some degree or a relapse of psychotic episode. In any case, the dose of oleanz may need to be increased to 20 mg. It does n't look like due to side effect
