Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. If you having continuous deficiency and clinical symptoms there is no problem in continuing intake of vitamin D. You can take 60k vitamin D soft caps weekly once or daily 600 IU instead of injections. Better to go with 600 IU daily supplements. If you getting proper sun exposure then you can reduce intake of vitamin D. Taking fatty fish like salmon , tuna , mackeral , beef liver , cheese and egg yolks can be taken for getting vitamin D also.
Only in toxic vitamin D levels in blood. These type of toxicity occurs if you take in higher doses like 10k daily. In case of such toxicity kidney problems , general weakness and increased fatigue will be present.

Thanks.
That means your diet is deficient in calcium.

That means your diet is deficient in calcium. So you can continue it as a supplement. Lower doses wont be a problem. Problem usually getting will be constipation and gastro intestinal upset. If you don't have that then you can continue. You can also change calcium citrate to calcium carbonate if using for long term. If you can take natural diet alternatives like cheese , milk and other milk products , vegetables like cabbage you can avoid calcium supplements.

It is ok to continue this.

The reason can be due to changes in diet. For getting a normal calcium from diet you should have a proper break fast lunch and dinner as well as some snacks in between. Vitamin D3 deficiency is a main cause also. Problems with gastro intestinal tract like intermittent diarrhoea , worm infestation , problems with organs like kidney and parathyroid gland also can cause low calcium when you taking proper food.
If you don't have any organic problems then it could be due to vitamin D3 deficiency and you can continue the supplement you are taking. It is ok to continue for long term in such case.
