MES is not part f schizophrenia
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.
Let me first explain about musical ear syndrome. Musical ear syndrome (MES) describes a condition seen in people who have hearing dysfunction and subsequently develop auditory hallucinations. MES has also been associated with musical hallucinations, which is a complex form of auditory hallucinations, where an individual may experience music or sounds that are heard without an external source. MES is caused by hypersensitivity in the auditory cortex.
It is completely different from schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is psychological disorder and MES is kind of organic disorder. In schizophrenia, patients hear multiple or single person auditory voices. These voices could be commanding, commenting or derogatory etc, but in MES, voices quality is same. Patients hear musical sound. So, you have MES and it is not part of schizophrenia.
Now the treatment part. Medications can be helpful, such as antipsychotics, benzodiazepines or antiepileptics, but there is very limited evidence for this. I have seen patient, who got good response with lamotrigine with clonazepam. You can also take donapezil with these drugs. It would also help to stop memory impairement. In surgical treatment, you can go for cochlear implant, but it is very costly.

Thank you for response.
You need supportive therapy
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I just want to say, it is a organic disorder. In that case, it is part of your life. It is very difficult to cure it, so there is no need to think about MES.
If other people behavior bother you, in that case, you can't do anything. You can control other people. Let them say, but try to ignore there words. Number of people have neurological disorder like seizure, parkinson, multiple sclerosis, but they enjoy their life. Same way, you can. Your disorder is also a neurological disorder rather than psychological. You just need supportive therapy to adjust with condition and environment. Medicine could help you partially, but in your case, it's the support or favor that would be the real treatment. You can take help of a psychiatrist or psychologist for supportive therapy.
