Can Lexapro, Lamictal, And Colonipan Medicines Cause False Negative Result In Urine Drug Test?
I took a random urine drug test at work recently. I take lexapro, lamictal, and colonipan for anxiety and bi-polar 2 disorder, and often take ibuprofen for headaches, which i guess are a side-effect from one of these medications. I am worried about a false negative on this test, and worried about the same result on a retest. Are my worries reasonable, or am i being paranoid? I have received many mixed messages about this question and am trying to get a straight, reliable answer. Any and all information about this wil be greatly appreciated.

In general, to detect lexapro and lamictal, the urine would have to be sent to a lab. Instant urine drug tests do not normally test for these medications. Klonopin, a benzodiazepine, can be detected by instant urine tests though.
When urine is sent to a lab, the urine is tested with very precise methods. A false negative would be very unlikely seen the labs are quite accurate.
Instant tests are not very accurate and your Klonopin may have a chance of having a false negative on an instant urine test, but it would be accurate for a lab test (and not have a false positive).
If you are taking the medications are prescribed, you should have no problems with your urine test. If the tests were very unreliable, they wouldn't be used often in medicine. As long as the urine is sent to a lab, it should be accurate.
