What Causes Nausea After Having Food?

default
Posted on Sat, 27 Dec 2014
Question: My daughter has had episodes of nausea after eating for years. Extensive work ups including Upper GI scope were negative. Has not responded to GERD meds. This seems to be gradually worsening over time. 2 weeks ago, she became very SOB with elevated heart rate and acute abdominal pain. Some vomiting. No fever, though she was very hot to the touch. All bloodwork was WNL. This resolved within a few days, but she has subsequently developed R upper quadrant pain, she says it feels like "lower rib pain" which starts in the abdomen and radiates around to her back. This pain is progressively worsening.

Brief Answer:
Has Ultrasound abdomen been done?

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Has she undergone an Ultrasound of the abdomen to rule out Gall bladder problems? Because the pain sounds like one from the gall bladder or liver.
I think that should be done if it has not been done and then if it is there she might require treatment of the gall bladder normal.
If that comes to be normal then ribcage pain or some cause in lower chest can be looked into.
Presently, I feel you should see a Surgeon who can examine her and get an Ultrasound done.
Take care and let me know if there are other queries that I can help you with.
