I'm extremely light headed, nauseated, chest pressure, chest pain and general sense of not being well. what could it be?
Brief Answer:
alcohol withdrawal
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
This is a typical alcohol withdrawal which generally starts after 48 hrs of drinking and can last for a week. This has to be managed symptomatically now with increased water intake and anti-emetics for nausea. The dehydration caused by alcohol is leading to dizziness episodes and weakness , hence ORS packets should be taken during the day. 1 Satchet in 1 litre of water and 3 packets to be taken in a day at least. Try taking roasted food as that shall help decrease gastritis which can be the cause of mild chest discomfort.
But there is palpitation and increased pulse rate then you should pay a visit to your PCP or ER for a complete evaluation.
