Question: Just back from egypt last friday unwell since sunday morning nausea very week and sweats and chills on and off head feels dizziness on and off I had been bit 5 times from moseies one was really nasty could I have malaria

Brief Answer: Possible symptoms of malaria Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic. As per the symptoms you have described possibly you could be suffering from malaria. Other symptoms could be headache, fever, shivering, joint pain, vomiting, hemolytic anemia, jaundice, hemoglobin in the urine, retinal damage and convulsions. But that can only be confirmed by doing some investigations in which we see the blood smear for malarial parasites, get the white blood cell count done. And the latest most confirmatory test is polymerase chain reaction. But then you must refer to the doctor. One more thing I would like to mention that since you are patient of celiac disease on dapsone, this drug can produce side effect similar in picture to malaria . Try to rule that out. And remember that dapsone cannot be taken along with antimalarial. They have a lot of interactions
