What Causes Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Leg Pain, Cough And Fever?

Question: Started out with severe nausea and vomiting, diarrhea. This continued all night, dry heaves. Complained of legs aching and 'skin hurts'. Afebrile. Nausea and diarrhea continue today, now developing a cough and having a 100.4 fever, relieved with Tylenol. Able to keep down small amounts of food and liquid but feels miserable. Initially thought it was food poisoning d/t violence of vomiting but can't explain cough and generalized pain.
Brief answer - It is a viral infection.
Detailed answer..
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, cough and fever are all signs of viral infection.
Since it is a viral infection, no need for any specific antibiotic.
Treatment involves:-
May take domperidone three times a day for couple of days for vomiting.
Drink plenty of water, coconut water, lemon water etc to take care of hydration.
Take paracetamol or Tylenol for fever and bodyache.
For cough you can add tablet FEXOFENADINE 180 mg once a day for 3-5 days.
You would be all right in next 3-5 days.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
