Question: hi doctor,
I am just 36 years old,
Last three weeks back, i had mild numbness on my left hand and left leg and on my left side of my face, and had some pain over chest area, so i rushed to near by hospital, they suggested to take MRI Brain, we took it, and the impression shows like this Subacute Lacunar infaracts in left putamen and left pons.
Is this curable? Is there any Ayurvedic treatment, kindly advise.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, my name is Dr. Vinay Bhardwaj.
I am so sorry and not merely a little surprised at the fact that you had a stroke at such a young age. Foe a 36 year old strokes of this sort a very rare. Nonetheless, i am sorry to say that there is no "cure" for a stroke per say. If you have any deficits from the stroke, good physical therapy and exercises will help you overcome the limitations of the stroke and allow your brain to 'remap' the damaged areas that were lost in the stroke and allow them to function again.
Much more important though is to PREVENT this from happening again! To that end I need some information.
What is your current height and weight? Do you smoke?
Can you please tell me what physical symptoms you still have after the stroke?
Are you on any medication after the stroke? Can you list them and the dosages for me?
Did they do any blood work on you in the hospital? Can you upload those results? Can you upload the MRI's?
Are you hypertensive? Have you been treated if you are?
Do you have any blood clotting disorders? Have you been tested for them? Could you upload the results if you have?
As I said it is on the rarer side for a man as young as yourself to suffer from these kind of lacunar infarcts.. The most common causes are that if hypertension or very rarely certain blood coagulation disorders.
For now they HAVE to put you on some blood thinking agents like aspirin and clopidogrel to prevent another stroke from happening.
Lastly, i am not aware of any Ayurvedic therapy with regard to this kind of issue. I have nothing against Ayurveda in general, but I would strongly suggest that you concentrate on getting normal allopathic treatment when it comes to issues like strokes.
I hope this helps, I look forward to you response. Take Care

Dr, Kindly let me know, till how long I live, please say approx?
Brief Answer:
You will live a good long life!
Detailed Answer:
I am glad, you are getting the treatment you need. You will live a full and normal life so long as you are taking care of yourself and you prevent further strokes.
I just need you to go back to your doctors and ask them if they ruled out any "blood clotting disorders'. After that, I see that you are being treated well. Weight loss and exercise will help you in the long run as well.
Relax my friend and live a long happy life. Just don't neglect your health

Dr, As you said, i checked with my Neuro doctor, he said no need for that.
I met him last saturday, from yesterday he stopped Ecosprin from my medication.
Rest of the medicines he asked me to continue. And he is saying that there was no stroke attacked me and no need to worry.
I attached the MRI report for your examination.
Some times I fee mild numbness over leg and left side of my face.
Kindly advise.
Thanks
Brief Answer:
He's right, does not look like a stroke
Detailed Answer:
Hi there. Thanks for uploading that scan report. It was very helpful. I think what path you are on is definitely correct. It does not look like a real stroke occurred in that region. Even if it did it is a very small region.
Given you symptoms of numbness, I would like to suggest that you get some neck x-rays done. Alot of the time, these feelings of numbness and other odd sensations are because the spinal cord is being compressed a bit in the neck.
Please ask your doctor to order the following x-rays.
1) X-ray Neck AP , Oblique and Lateral in neutral position. (3 Diff pictures).
2) X-ray Neck Lateral in flexion and in extension (2 Diff pictures).
Once those are done, upload them to me and we can go over in detail.
For all the rest. Your neurologist sounds like they are on top of things, and it doesn't look like you've had a stroke. So i suggest that you follow up with the neurologist for all the maintenance issues while you and I concentrate on WHY this is happening in the first place and what part of the body is affected.
Take Care,
Vinay
