What Causes Odd Smelling Urine?

I was diagnosed, after a sleep study about 15 yrs ago with sleep apnea. I did not pursue it. I had another sleep study done 5 years ago, which indicated the same. I did not have money to get a mask. I had a sleep study done this past Nov. by the same doctor that reviewed the second study & she says I have copd & need O2 during the day & an inhaler. She gave me the inhaler in her office to try Breo Elliptica & I had a very bad reaction, which still has not totally cleared up (I cannot take benedryl any longer - even 6mgm knocks me out. The sleep dr said I do not have sleep apnea any longer. How can that be? Did it go away? The last study also indicated that my oxygen level dropped to 81% while asleep, but the dr said I do not need a mask. I am confused & very worried. I was stuck by lightning in the head in 1998, left with physical problems, depression, anxiety & ptsd. What do I do
urine test needed, oxygen needed
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your questions.
To answer your first question, urine smell can be affected by what you eat and drink. If it smells like bread it may indicate a yeast infection so it would be good to see a doctor to have that checked out. If it persists please get a complete urine examination done.
It can sometimes happen that sleep apnea resolves if you lose a lot of weight. Otherwise I am not sure why you would have it in the past but not now. Your oxygen levels indicate that you definitely need to be using oxygen while you are sleeping. You need to be working closely with a pulmonary doctor to get your oxygen levels in a healthy range and to treat your COPD. If you had a reaction to the Breo, then there are other inhalers that can be used to treat COPD. If you smoke it is very important that you stop smoking as soon as possible. Seeing a doctor to treat your anxiety and depression would be very helpful.
I hope that you can get your COPD treated and that you are feeling better as soon as possible.
