I am of the opinion that optic neuritis can be a manifestation of this, but it is an atypical manifestation.
Toxoplasma infection is asymptomatic in most immunocompetent patients and, when it occurs, it is usually benign and self-limited.

I have had it happen to me a few times that when I look at something it's like in puzzle pieces is the only way I can describe it but last night it happened but the pieces I was seeing was not in color just gray that happened a few times for a few min then I could see color again , does the toxoplasmosis need to be active in order for optic neuritis to occur? I'm in a lot of pain with left eye and my vision stays blurry I do have app on the 15th with a new doctor but looking for some help now to kinda give me an idea of what is going on . I have done seen two retina specialist for the toxoplasmosis in the last 7 months and was told in October that it wasn't active anymore but I been dealing with the pains and blurred vision off and on since then starting beg of XXXXXXX it's a consent pain now I take tynole to just ease the pain some but doesn't help much

Optic neuritis is an atypical manifestation, it can be noted with subclinical cases of toxoplasmosis where there are no active toxoplasmosis symptoms. It can be treated with steroids, which is prescription based agent. However before we consider steroid therapy, it is wise to confirm the diagnosis through detailed examination. I would suggest you to see opthalmologist for examination and further help.

In the interim you can always take take over the counter pain killers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain.
