What Causes Pain And Bulging Veins In The Right Foot?

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Jul 2015
Question: Hi I am experiencing alot of pain on the top of my right foot and my veins are protruding - I showed my doctor but he said "no they are no diseased or anything" the pain shoots up my leg and my vein on my shin area also hurts. I also have sciatica on the same side - so I wanted to know can this be a result of the sciatica? Also, I feel that my big toe is being affected also. I'm a 52 yr old female. my email is YYYY@YYYY . Is this something I should be very concerned about? I was looking at symptoms of Gout but doesn't sound like it.

Brief Answer:
I think it is lumbar problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible nerve compression.
I think I will recommend an MRI of LS spine to confirm the diagnosis.
If it's minor compression , a simple medicine like pregabalin may help along with physiotherapy. severe cases do need surgical correction.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will help you find the best way. Best of luck.
