Brief Answer:
Herpes zoster most probably

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

After reading history,it seems that most probably you have developed a viral disease called HERPES ZOSTER, also called shingles. It is caused by varicella zoster virus.

Kindly consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would suggest...

- antidviral drug like valacyclovir 500 mg thrice a day for about 2 to 3 weeks
- steroid in tapering dose, to prevent post hermetic neuralgia
- analgesic like ketorolac
- apply silver sulfadiazine cream
- bed rest
- avoid anxiety
- if needed, sedative may be taken for sleep

I hope this would help you.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Varicella vaccine prevents chicken pox but not herpes zoster

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back to HCM...

Please go for treatment as early as possible for HERPES ZOSTER as it may be followed by serious complication called post herpetic neuralgia.

Varicella vaccine consists live weak attenuated varicella zoster virus. It prevents development of varicella...not heroes zoster. The weak virus might remain in ganglion...which can lead to development of herpes zoster.

So, take treatment as suggested in previous post under guidance of dermatologist.

I hope this would help..

Thanks.
