What Causes Pain And Numbness In Lower Left Leg?

default
Posted on Thu, 25 Feb 2016
Question: My Lower left leg is quite numb. One doctor said it was a pinched nerve in my back. Another said it was a pulled muscle. I'm on t3's most of the time but when they wear off
the pain is quite bad. It is like it is numb but painfull at the same time. It feels like my leg should be twice the size it is and I keep checking to see if it is red but it isn't.

Brief Answer:
Can be a pinched nerve in back.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The feeling of numbness in the lower left leg that you have is likely to be due to a pinched nerve in the back. This can be aggravated by bad posture and sitting or standing for long duration.
The best way to get it diagnosed is to get an MRI scan of the lower back done after consulting with your orthopedician. Till then taking methylcobalamin supplements can help.
I hope this answers your query.
