What Causes Pain And Popping Sensation On Knee Cap?

Question: I have an issue with my left knee. I have pain in the top of my knee cap and a little popping sensation but only when I do squats or when jumping in certain ways. I can walk fine and do elliptical machine with no pain. The pain has been reduced over the last week but not gone. I just want to make sure this is not something more serious. Its not a feeling of discomfort I have every experiences before and the feeling like the joint is popping or moving around has me worried. I cant even find a sore spot when pushing around my knee with my fingers.
Seems to somehow have occurred when working with my trainer. I was sitting on my knees doing some ab exercised. I heard no pop or pain but when I got up I had the pain in the knee.

Brief Answer:
possibly meniscus injury of knee.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have studied your case.
I would like to give differential diagnosis.
There is probably meniscus injury to knee may be while doing exercise.
I will advise to do MRI knee to confirm the diagnosis.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and Tens may give relief.
I f not relieved then arthroscopic repair can be done.
Another possibility of early patello femoral osteoarthritis.
Knee strengthening exercise and cartilage protecting medication like chondritin sulphate will help.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to ask. I will be happy to answer your question. Take care.
