Brief Answer:
It needs investigation

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through the entire details. The swelling of feet and other parts of the body could broadly be due to three reasons:
* Kidney problems
* Inability of the heart to pump adequately
* Inability of the liver in synthesizing proteins that keep the fluids within vasculature

The cause needs evaluation. At the age of 55 years, such things in fact need periodic monitoring. I would suggest you to get the following tests done:
* Blood for HbA1c - it gives a three monthly average of blood glucose. If it comes high, it means that she needs medication for blood glucose
* Blood for Urea, Creatinine as well as Urine routine microscopy - It will indicate the status of kidney function and whether proteins are leaking out through the kidneys.
* Blood for lipid profile and liver function test
* Blood pressure measurement at three different times

You may give her Aquazide (hydrochlorthiazide) 12.5 mg once daily. It should help in bringing the swelling in control. For the rest, please revert back with the reports.
