What Causes Pain In Chest And Upper Back?
Question: Hello - I have had chest pain for a couple of days upper chest and upper back - I thought it was due to my bad posture and sitting at desk all day. This has become progressively worse. Woke this morning where chest looks slightly swollen and is tender to touch and hurts when I move or take deep breath. Ice seems to help slightly and Advil does nothing... Now the area where my shoulder meets neck looks puffy like holding fluid only on right side?? No fever. No other symptoms, no cough.. Etc... Any ideas???
Brief Answer:
Chances of costochondritis
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir!
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
I understand your concern.Your symptoms make me think of costochondritis. It is a relatively harmless musculoskeletal chest pain and usually resolves without treatment.
If advil is not helping, then I think you should seek physician care to rule out other diseases of heart and lungs.A blood work, chest Xray and electrocardiogram will help ruling out other diseases.
Hope this helps.Feel free to ask more.
