Question: When stressed my chest area around my nipple begins to hurt. I am currently overweight and wonder if this would be a symptom of gynecomastia or just depression/stressed. I have struggled with depression. thank you.

Brief Answer:
most probably due to stress.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concerns.

Pain around nipple is not a symptom of gynecomastia.

As you have history of depression and stress, this pain is most probably due to stress.

Stress can cause any number and variety of symptoms ranging from mild uneasiness to chest pain to dizzines to palpitations and fainting episodes.

Still, I would suggest you to consult your doctor and go for ECG to rule out a cardiac cause.

Practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing and meditation. This will minimize your stress.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.

Thanks.
