Question: Good evening. My mom was admitted into the hospital today and has been having chest pain from the middle of her chest to her shoulder along with nausea and terrible sweating. She just told us that this has been going on for about 3 weeks. They did an EKG, chest Xray and her heart enzymes are all coming back normal. They are doing a stress test on her tomorrow to see what it could be. Could she have had a mild heart attack and it isn't showing up?

Brief Answer:
Carduac enzymes are very specific

Detailed Answer:
hello

thankyoufor contacting HCM

I've gone through your query and would try to help you in best possible way. cardiac enzymes are very specific for MI. They start rising within 5-7 hrs after injury to heart and remains high for about 10 days. if cardiac enzymes were raised earlier so it means that there was an event of MI. If enzymes are now getting back to normal then its a good sign. adequate rest and treatment will help to recover smoothly.

hope i have answered your query. if you have any followup question then feel free to ask. if not then dont forget to close the discussion and rate it.
wishing you two good health.
