What Causes Pain In Chest?
SPECT scan can detect lung cancer in early stage
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case.
As per your history look for enlarged lymph node by clinical examination.
You may need further investigation to rule out malignancy.
SPECT scan can detect lung cancer in early stage in cases where CT scan is normal and cancer is suspected.
You may need blood investigation like ESR, CRP, and CBC.
If all tests are normal then pain can be due to thoracic nerve compression.
MRI thoracic and cervical spine will help to see nerve compression.
Start therapy to quit smoking.

Thanks for the answer, I do not have any other symptom of cancer present... I am healthy otherwise and active worker.. I have seen doctors around and none have suspected malignancy... Do you suspect malignancy at all? Enlarged lymph nodes could have come in the CT scan clearly... The pain is only when I touch, and the back pain is only when I bend neck forward, that too goes away after I bend it past a certain extent. Your answer has confused me a lot... And made me anxious!
I put up the fact that smokers have multiple fold
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case with diligence.
Do not get confused
I put up the fact that smokers have multiple fold risk of getting lung cancer then non smoker.
As you are having symptoms related to lung cancer so you visited many doctors and did investigation.
If after clinical examination and investigation many doctors do not suspect malignancy then its fine.
I suspect cancer if you have most of associated symptoms like weight loss, anorexia, easy fatigability, persistent cough, persistent pain.
Now coming to your neck symptoms
Most probable reason for your symptoms could be postural problem as you may be sitting for long time or working on computer for long time.
So I will advise Screening of spine by MRI.
If MRI is normal. You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.
Some life style modifications to prevent pain– Take break every 40 min from work and do some neck rotations, stretches, walk and get back to work. Sit with taking support to your back, and do not watch television constantly.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.

But my psychiatrist rubbishes all this and attributes it to anxiety.
I am very very confused for not getting an answer.
I do not suspect lymph nodes on a personal local exam, I have subcutaneous fat though, but that is all through the body. I do not have fever at all, which I guess will accompany swollen lymph nodes.
I am confused... could not sleep without sleeping pills, as I have bipolar disorder for 6 years now.
Can you please be of a little more help.
Do SPECT scan if you are confused.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Its good that you dont have other constitutional symptoms,so possibility of cancer reduces.
If still you have doubt do SPECT/PET scan .Normal scan rules out cancer and no scope for confusion.
For your bipolar disorder you may need to work hard to fix this problem.
I will advise along with your psychiatric medication start physical exercises like suryanamaskar, gym, long morning walk.
Many of my patients get relief by yoga pranayama and XXXXXXX kriya[art of living program] so you can also due that.
