Brief Answer:
It's referred pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

throat pain may radiate to the ear. This is not very common but it does happen sometimes. If you only have pain when swallowing then you shouldn't worry about the ear. There's probably no problem with your ear.
If you have constant pain that won't go away or you have partial hearing loss then you should visit an ENT specialist as soon as possible. The ENT specialist should be able to assess your ear's condition with direct vision of the ear drum and give you proper advice.

I hope I've helped!
