Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I understand your frustration feeling this bad. What even makes it more concerning is the fact that you have not gotten a definitive diagnosis or relief from medications.
I have gone through the information and all the symptoms that you have provided. These symptoms are not typical for a single disease process. This would require that you work closely with your doctors to be able to do a detailed questioning and examination followed by laboratory investigations to investigate potential causes. These symptoms are non specific and may raise the suspicion of IBS. However, IBS is only valid when no other cause to your symptoms is identified. Though all other tests have been fine, with calprotectin still pending, I will not want to delve into this. Should this test and every other requested test come back normal, then the diagnosis of IBS would be more likely and most probable.
Shingles at your age is not a common occurrence. Do you have any condition or are you on any medication that may suggest a weakened immune status? If this be the case, then it is understandable why you have shingles. If it is not the case, ask your doctor what he thinks the possible cause of this is. Shingles generally occur on one side of the body in a well defined pattern and never crosses the midline. Should you have an image of this rash, then I would love to see it just to make sure it was correctly diagnosed as shingles.
In all, follow up with the investigations. If no abnormality is noted, we would strongly consider IBS. Different drugs and life style measures would be recommended to help you deal with this condition. No single drug or lifestyle modification works well for all and working with the client on personal basis is always the best approach. If a disease condition is identified in the process, then you would be managed accordingly.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
