What Causes Pain In Left Breast With History Of Breast Lump Removal?

i have a pain in my left breast, around six months but getting worse, there is no lump that i can tell, but it hurts to lie on it, its very uncomfortable overall and there is a regular prickly feeling of pain. I had a lump about four years ago, in the same breast, which was biopsied and benign. that lump is now gone. The pain is not severe most of the time, but the only way i can describe it, is that i cringe if anyone hugs me, cant lie in certain positions at night and certainly wouldnt want anyone to touch it. At certain times the pain escalates into the breast, in a prickly way.
Get examined by a GP to confirm Benign breast disease.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
It is most likely that it is benign breast disease which can sometimes very painful. I would still advice you to get examined by your GP or a Surgeon just to rule out any small lumps. If he confirms benign breast disease, then the treatment can be initiated. I usually advice my patients Capsules of Oil of Evening primrose which are taken for 5 times per day for about three months and tighter under garments. You can also try Vitamin E capsules and pain medicines like Naproxen when the pain is severe.
If the Doctor is unable to rule out a lump, then he might order an Ultrasound or a Mammogram. If he/she does so then do let us know the report or you can upload the same on this site.
Don't worry. It sounds mostly harmless but the treatment takes time and is less than satisfactory. We will try to help you resolve the problem.
Do let me know if there are any further queries that I can help resolve.
Take care,
