What Causes Pain In Left Hip While Walking?

Question: I started noticing a popping sound in my left hip 6 months ago, when I walked. I did not have pain. I have noticed recently I am having pain when I walk in my left hip. what are your thoughts I get in and out of my car 16 to 20 times per day, on the drivers side.
