What Causes Pain In Lower Abdomen?

Question: Hi My Name is XXXXXXX My wife XXXXXXX is having pain in her left side (mid to lower) she refuses to go to the Dr. and she has been having this pain for a few weeks off and on.. Constipation was the initial thought. She also has dull pain in lower back (off and on) Directly behind the front area of pain.. Can you tell me what this could be?

Pain in abdomen in the mid to lower of the a female patient of 53 years, off and on for a few weeks and dull on and off pain in the lower back directly behind can be due to the reasons:
-Colitis, inflammation of the part of the colon in the said area.
-Left ureteric stone

Also noted the history of Her refusal to go to the Doctor and Ibuprofen, Prune and juice and your thoughts of constipation as a cause.

Colitis looks to be the most common reason, besides uncommon causes to be remembered are a possibility of a mass or a polyp considering her age of 53.
