Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate:
Female/25 - pain in right side of abdomen below the naval - I think for one week - loose morning motions - want to know if the pain is due to infection or something else - not visited the Doctor nor taken any medicines ...
If the problem is there for about one week, there is a chance that there is either an infection of intestinal tract. Since the pain is pointed to a particular area, the chances that this pain may be due to colitis, typhlitis or appendicitis and so on.
To get a proper diagnosis it is better to go for some basic tests of the following:
- Routine tests of blood, urine and stool.
- High resolution ultrasonography or still better CT scan of the abdomen to rule out appendicitis and such causes.
- A trial of 5-day course of an antibiotic and metronidazole (you need a prescription f your local Doctor) along with probiotics would give early and complete results unless there is a surgical cause of pain.
I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications or if you feel there is a gap of communication.
