Brief Answer:
can take 2 to 3 weeks

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pain in the right side of the chest could be due to problems to any of the structures on that side of chest: skin, muscles and other soft tissue, ribs, pleura (lining of the lungs), lungs.
Pleuritis is inflammation of the pleura of the lungs and it can cause pain which can be worse on taking a deep breath.

Inflammation and/or injury to any of these areas can cause pain.

It can sometimes take 2 to 3 weeks for inflammation to completely resolve.

Rest and the use of anti inflammatory medication would help.

Examples would include naproxen, ibuprofen, cataflam, aspirin

The use of warm compresses to the area would also helps.

If the pain worsens despite treatment (rest, medication, compresses) then you would need to consider visiting your doctor who may prescribe stronger pain medication.
An xray may also be considered.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
