What Causes Pain In Right-sided Abdomen, Lower Back And Blood In Urine?

Some information on this:
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
Depending on the location and nature of the right sided abdominal pain, here are some of the most likely possibilities of what is going on:
If the pain in the lower back is in the area of the right kidney (in back of your waist on the right side - below the rib cage), and you are also feeling some nausea, given that you have blood in your urine, this could be an upper urinary tract infection (pyelonephritis, kidney infection) and you should go in tonight to give a urine specimen for culture and to get an antibiotic.
It could also be due to a stone in the kidney/urinary tract.
If the pain in the abdomen is in the lower right portion (lower right quadrant), and if you have your appendix, it could be appendicitis. Usually people have progressively increasing pain with this over hours, but not always. Pain in appendicitis is worse with walking and jarring movements. Again, you would want to go in to be evaluated for this.
If the pain is in the upper right quadrant of your abdomen, under the right rib cage, this could be inflammation of the gall bladder such as with stones. But unlike the small amount of blood we see with kidney or appendix causes, gall bladder problem usually don't cause blood in the urine.
If the pain is severe, OR you have symptoms that I described for either kidney infection or appendicitis, you should go in to the ER tonight.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
