Posted on Tue, 5 Sep 2017
Question: My pain first started in groin area, through the roof pain, if I bend my leg sideways, mostly on my left side. That has benn going on for months. When x-rayed they saw no significant problems, they put me on nsaid, with very little change, Two days ago my left knee began hurting and feels very stiff/heavy. Hurts a lot when walking/standing. My left knee is swollen.
I am a 64 yr. old female. I am active, dance, bike, hike, but I did not have an accident to bring on this pain. Should I see a physician?

Brief Answer:
Knee arthritis . Needs evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and I understand your concern. Knee joint pain and restricted mobility at age of 64 not responding to NSAIDs should be evaluated for the cause. It appears to be age related arthralgia secondary to osteoarthritis. let your doctor have a look see the damage and run some tests and decide how to proceed. physiotherapy, pain killers, muscle relaxants will be conservative options. Hope for the best.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
