Brief Answer:
Can be Vitamin D or magnesium deficiency.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Generalised aches in muscles and joints are often found in vitamin D and magnesium deficiency.

I suggest you to consult an endocrinologist and get prescribed vitamin D and magnesium supplements. Your wife's symptoms should improve with that. Also eat magnesium rich foods like bananas, beans, chickpeas, fish, nuts, soybeans, spinach etc which are natural sources of magnesium.

Regarding vitamin D levels, she needs to take a XXXXXXX of vitamin D with milk or curd once a week for 8 weeks and then once a month. Each XXXXXXX contains 60,000 IU of vitamin D. But these should be taken only after getting the vitamin D levels checked.
The feeling of tingling can be due to low levels of vitamin B 12 or mild nerve root compression. Proper supplements will help.
I hope this answers your query.

Good Day Dr. Tayal,

Thank you very much for your excellent response, information, and advice. I am making an appointment with an endocrinologist. I have been to three doctors locally. One doctor thought it was Lyme Decease, another thought I need an MRI on my knee, and another thought it was arthritis. I wanted to add that one of my ankles is swelled and I am usually cold at night. I don't know if this changes your opinion or not but wanted to let you know. Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Brief Answer:
Ankle swelling can be due to arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The swelling of the ankle can be due to arthritis. You can keep the foot elevated on a pillow at night and see if it helps.
Hope my answer is helpful.
