Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
Before I proceed to answer I will ask you for a little clarification as upper portion is confused by some people.
Can you clarify about the exact location of pain. Is it near the root of penis or at the tip of penis.
It will help me to narrow down the causes for pain.
It is also advisable to mention whether you are sexually active? If yes please mention that dates of latest intercourse and type of protection used?
In addition let me know if you pain while micturating?
Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
Please drink plenty of water and citrous fruit juice
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for reverting back to me.
I have reviewed the provided details and feel that there is possibility of some stone passing down from the bladder. The pain at the tip of penis is very characteristic of bladder stones and it is possible that same is applicable in your case.
Although I will suggest USG abdomen with pelvis but before it can be done please take plenty of water and liquid fluid. Also take the citrous fruit juice (orange, lemon). This will help in pain as well as passing down of the stone.
I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.

Hello Doctor, Please elaborate a little.
1. why there is pain only when the penis gains erection?
2. I shall immediately start drinking more water/fluids/citrus fruits etc. How long should it take for the stone to pass out?
3. USG means Ultra Sound G? Do you recommend going for Ultrasound immediately or wait for some period?
Regards, XXXX

Brief Answer:
It is because pain is referred to tip from bladder
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.
When there is erection the blood is accumulated which causes venous congestion leading to pain. I need to explain here that exactly the pain is still in bladder but because of common nerve supply the pain gets referred to tip of penis.
Although it is difficult to speculate the likely time period without knowing the USG report burt there is possibility that it will be passed in couple of days.
Yes it means ultrasonography. There is no emergency to go for USG and you can wait for it. In case two or three days do not give you relief you can have USG.
Thanks and regards.
